The city's water supply is provided by municipal
wells, stored in a water reservoir or water tower and conveyed through
a large network of underground water mains and supply lines. The
Farmington Water Board, appointed by the city council, is responsible
for providing continuous, adequate, potable, bacteria free water
supply under constant pressure. Municipal Services maintenance staff
are responsible for the proper maintenance of the supply system,
reading of water meters and responding to customer service requests.
The water system is also essential for the provision of local fire
protection services.
Emergency service requests should be directed to 651-280-6800 during business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and 911 after hours and on weekends.
