Farmington City Council Seats on the 2024 General Election Ballot

Mayoral Seat
Two Councilmember Seats
Terms: January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2028

The candidate filing period is during business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting July 30, 2024.

Candidate filing for City Council closes at 5 p.m. on August 13.

An Affidavit of Candidacy must be filed in person at Farmington City Hall, 430 Third Street. The filing fee of $5 may be paid by cash or check.

The candidate withdrawal deadline is 5 p.m. on August 15, 2024.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to vote in Minnesota

• Must not have filed for another office at the upcoming Primary or General Election

• Must be 21 years of age or more upon assuming office

• Must have maintained residence in the city of Farmington for at least 30 days before the General Election

• Must pay $5 filing fee and file an Affidavit of Candidacy form in the Office of the City Clerk
